The foundation this software is built on is reliable and very capable. From a developers standpoint, it's more difficult to code custom features and extensions for Drupal than it is for Joomla, but a majority of the extensions available for Joomla also exist for Drupal. This is a strong software that has a very large web presence and can be counted on year after year.

The list of core features for Drupal is inclusive of those that are available for Joomla and Wordpress with a few additional ones. A little more difficulty in styling and layout customizations is really Drupal's only drawback, and that can be overcome with a little bit of work. If you're making a decision based on a necessity, or possible future necessity, of multiple websites run from one installation, this is the best bet to go with, as other systems have extensions available but aren't as reliable and usually require code hacks to implement.
